This year, the Nevada, MO quilting community lost a beloved shop owner, Erica Skouby from Nine Patch Quilt & Fabrics. One of the quilts featured in the 2024 edition of the All Missouri Shop Hop Magazine, titled “My Missouri” and designed by Ann Jones of Loose Thread Designs, is dedicated in honor of Erica. Ann shared these heartfelt words about the quilt, which holds a very special meaning to her:
“Hi, I’m Ann Jones and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t designing or piecing a quilt, or thinking about a pattern. This one holds special meaning for me as it’s the last quilt Erica Skouby of Nine Patch Quilts let me bounce ideas off her. She was my encouragement to write and publish the Mystery Quilt the past 12 years in the Country Register. Erica lost her hard-fought battle with cancer on Valentines Day 2024. This quilt is dedicated to her memory and her love of people. Thank you, Erica, for all the conversations, laughs, and collaboration through the years. I miss you, my friend.”
