Life finds a way of getting away from you when you don’t expect it, and Primitive Stitches embodies that for me.
What began as a “short break” from my nursing career in 2004 has evolved into my happy place. Primitive Stitches, especially in its current location, represents my family’s little piece of farm heaven. Located right outside city limits, the shop is a peaceful and relaxing two story building, complete with porches and as many friendly critters as you can count. Don’t be surprised to hear barnyard animals while you explore our shop or find a cat relaxing in the sunny window!
Our merchandise ranges from quality bolt fabric, fat quarters, books, patterns, notions, and kits from well known designers.
We have over 450+ colors of DMC floss to supply you with any color you need for any project, including our hand embroidery patterns, wool applique, and wool fat quarters.
Primitive Stitches is well known as the only place to carry wool felt by National Nonwovens in the region, with over 60+ colors in 12×18” sheets and some colors by the bolt.
We are also proud to showcase patterns designed by owner Melissa Towne. These patterns (quilts, embroidery, and wool felt applique) are inspired by a love for rustic life and family.
